This year, the farmers' market is considering other small things we can do for our community...
We will give away attractive, re-usuable market bags to the first 5 customers at each booth during the market on June 5th to bring awareness to the environmental dangers of plastic bags. We did this last year, and it was a tremendous success!
We will have a drop-off site for aluminum cans to be recycled for children's charities.
We have invited a home health provider to come give free blood pressure screenings.
We will have cooking demonstrations and free samples & recipe cards at our "Slow Food Avoyelles" booth to give people new ideas about cooking with food from the farmers' market.
The 4-H program is sponsoring a FREE dog/ cat flea dipping clinic on Ogden Street during the market. Please bring your pet in a kennel, and no newborns please! for more info., contact Esther Boe at the 4-H office.

It's so important to let children see you... supporting your local farmers, food artisans and artists. Spend time with your family in a healthy way... walk down to the farmers' market!
